Prescription Drugs and Pain Management
This course will focus on outlining the difficulties that a clinician may face when treating a client with a history of chronic pain. The training will discuss common prescribing practices and the mechanics of prescription medicine. It will also look at various alternative practices as well as the conflict that arises from a recovery point of view when dealing with pain.

Bio:
Damon Berryman, CASAC worked at ASACSC for over four years; prior to that he worked for seven years at Conifer in-patient. Damon has trained for DOCS, NYS EAP, Rockefeller College, and many other private concerns. He has written a number of manuals including the OASAS manual on treating heroin addiction. Mr. Berryman wrote and appeared in a 3 part video series called “Surviving Recovery” produced by FMS Productions. He has recently moved back to Albany after working as Director of a for-profit treatment program in a 120 bed prison based in Delaware.
